考古社成员苏可在课外实践中误触将军令而穿越到了吾国，恰逢大将军戴羽追查连环杀人案。苏可因与死者外貌一模一样，被戴羽用将军令强行娶回府中。然而都城暗流涌动，苏可连连遭遇刺杀，于是决定和戴羽一同调查行凶之人。调查的过程中，苏可结识了陆离山庄少庄主陆辰，并且觐见了当朝皇帝，发现皇帝竟然是一同穿越来的社团成员孙铎。原来苏可的同学们都穿越到了吾国，并且因为穿越的时间点不同，每个人的年龄和经历也各不相同，心性也受到了改变。在孙铎的帮助下，苏可和戴羽顺利查出了真凶，并将其绳之以法。虽然凶手供认不讳，但戴羽还是发现了蛛丝马迹，并判断背后还有幕后黑手。与此同时，苏可也发现陆离山庄的庄主陆离公竟然也是自己的同学小六。二人携手调查，逐步发现所有的线索都指向了苏可的昔日好友，如今的皇帝孙铎……。Gwen, a director of television commercials, has mapped out her life in an attempt to be in control.
