长久以来，龙己（岛崎信长 配音）都过着独自一人的生活，表面看来，龙己性格冷淡不近人情，但实际上，他十分擅长料理家务，并且拥有一颗柔软的心灵。从某一日开始，龙己再也不是一个人了，而多出来的那一个“陪伴者”，竟然是寄宿在他家浴缸里的人鱼若狭（梅原裕一郎 配音）。 悲观又近视的贝壳真木（津田健次郎 配音）、不请自来的水母三国（花江夏树 配音）、心灵手巧的章鱼鹰巢（铃木达央 配音）、表里不一的鲨鱼安贺里，自从龙己出现后，这些稀奇古怪的海洋生物亦开始接二连三的出现在龙己的生活中。而在此过程中，龙己和若狭的关系似乎变得越来越亲近起来。。朝子（上户彩 饰）生活在一个不完整的家庭之中，十七岁的她早早就失去了对未来的幻想和希望，同时对上学充满了厌恶。一天夜里，朝子趁着家人睡觉的时候将房间里的所有东西都丢到了垃圾场，同时，她决定不再去学校上课了。 数良（神木隆之介 饰）外表看似单纯无辜的小学生，实际上却要远比同龄人来的成熟的多。一次偶然中，数良在垃圾场捡到了朝子丢弃的电脑，他将电脑带回家，连上了互联网，竟然在网上开始经营色情女郎聊天室的生意。某日，数良找到了朝子，因为数良要上学，所以他的聊天室在白天无法正常营业，因此他委托不上学的朝子代替自己和客户聊天，朝子答应了。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
