《组合式家族》是一档观察类节目，观察既不是一个人也不是因为血缘或者婚姻，而是自发组成家族的新形态家庭。节目PD表示：“在1人家庭比例突破40%的时代，想要展现根据彼此需要和选择成为‘自发家族’的人们的日常。想在节目中讲述，人的温度具有的力量很了不起，一起吃饭、打听彼此的一天，是很珍贵并且能成为力量的事。”。Alan Rickman has signed on to play the legendary owner and founder of CBGB in Randall Miller and Jody Savin’s project revolving the seminal New York rock club.
